Khyros first met "Emcee Squared" on the bus ride from Long Island to the 2000 National Catholic Forensic League Championship tournament in Rochester, New York. The two became fast friends and Khyros assumed the rap name "DJ DK," producing several collaboration tracks with Mr. Squared, including "Calculus (Integrate it!)" and "Digital Gangstaz." These tracks, as well as SDMF, are from Emcee's first album Who the Hell is Emcee Squared?.
Emcee Squared's style is light-hearted, sharp-tongued satire. It is the product of a Long Island childhood and Catholic high school upbringing combined with artistic influence from Eminem, Xzibit, Ludacris and Tupac Shakur, to name a few. I sought to capture in the video Emcee's ability to take himself way too seriously while remaining perfectly aware of the fact that he is doing so. |
